English Hammered Gold Coin. Edward III (1327-1377), pre-treaty period (1351-1361), Noble, 7.66g, class F/Gc mule. Rare mule type. NGC graded AU Details Edge Damage.
We have identified the coin as a class F/Gc mule (S-1489/1490, subclass Gc reverse). NGC has attributed the coin as S-1486 which has a Type 1 cross mintmark; as can be seen from the images below this is not correct as the coin has a Type 4 cross mintmark which is a G reverse.
