Obverse description: Left-facing young head of Victoria with hair tied in a bun; legend reads approximately “VICTORIA DEI GRATIA”; date “1854” below the bust. Toothed border.
Reverse description: Britannia seated right, holding a trident and resting beside a Union Jack shield; floral emblems in the exergue. Legend reads approximately “BRITANNIAR: REG: FID: DEF:”. The trident appears to be the plain-trident variety, but wear prevents complete certainty.
Description and condition notes: Brown copper surfaces with substantial circulation wear, scratches and dark spots.
